Welcome to Long Island First Responders Golf League which will be held at West Sayville Golf Course. The league will go from the third week of April and run until the second week of October every Friday.

Each week one individual will be dedicated as a team captain to keep scores and move the pace of play. Scores will be recorded and a handicap will be issued to your name. Last week of play, a members lunch gathering will be held to issue awards to team members.

League is open to all first responders of Suffolk County, Nassau County and NYC. Application fee is $85 per player which includes a membership golf shirt and October lunch gathering.

  • 2026 season format :  Season starts Sayville April 17,  Brentwood May 7th, June 19 pizza gathering , July 16 orange ball, July 31st 5 club bag, August 21st Round  1 (Top 32) , August 28th Round 2 (top 16) , September 11th Finals (top 8),  September 18 Best ball & Awards luncheon, Season then will continue till October 16th
  • Season 2025 has come to an end , I want to thank each member for being prompt, playing outside your group meeting new members and showing respect to staff  & the course . Please get me application & CTP , total ($185) by November 15th, Until next season stay healthy ,safe and may your holidays be joyful
  • IMPORTANT:  Always check T-Times night before scheduled play,9pm, sometimes I have to make last minute changes to fill schedule ,also last minute decisions on inclement weather T-Times play  
  • Anyone scheduled to play on Thursdays can also play Fridays , let me know depending on availability .

 IMPORTANT: in the event of a possible rain out check our website at 0630 day of play, all decisions by Bobby will be made that morning in the event of rain or predicted inclement weather. Decision will be posted  day of T-Time on our web site no later than 0630 hour with updates, do not call clubhouse

  • Text Joe all 3 par winners in order to allocate $$$
  • Please stay up with pace makers (GROUP 1) if you fall behind every group behind you does , keep play moving
  • Club length to pin -- pick up , take stroke & move on unless your going for birdie

RULES

1.Please be at course at least 20 minutes prior to your T-Time. You might be sent out earlier to assure that the last group gets their round in

2. First name on time slot is captain, he will be responsible to speed up play, keep score and handle any team decisions

3. Captains will assure score card is handed in to Jim Pappas or Joe C. so handicaps can be calculated

4. After week 4, handicaps will be posted every other week behind your name

5. When the ball is on the green,, pick up within club

6. If the ball goes into a water hazard, woods or marsh, bring it on to the fairway even with where the ball went out of play. 1 stroke penalty will be issued unless ball is played as it lies.

7. If ball goes behind an object not part of course (a wood block ,ropes , chains etc. ) move ball to the side and play on, no penalty

8. You can lift and clean ball on fairway or green only

9. Try to limit stalling play,  minute ball find, we need to assure all members will have time to finish their round

10, If ball lands in sand trap you can lift ball and sweep sand only if in a blemished area of sand
